Monte Mumford

Monte holds an international reputation as a conductor, adjudicator, clinician and lecturer, contributing regularly to the  field of music education through conferences, publications, professional development, and master classes. He is highly regarded and sought for his experience, expertise, passion and effective teaching style.

Monte Mumford was Associate Professor of Music at Northwestern College, St Paul, Minnesota, USA, where he served as Director of Bands and Head of Winds and Percussion. His teaching duties included Instrumental Music Education and Advanced Conducting. Monte was formerly Senior Lecturer at the University of Tasmania from 1985 to 2003, where he lectured in conducting, music history, aural studies, and music education. Since returning to Launceston in 2010 he has been honoured to serve as a mentor for the University of Tasmania Community Music Staff.
